Love is in the air in New York City this Valentine's Day! On February 14th, Times Square will be the place to be for those looking to celebrate their love and commitment to one another. From wedding ceremonies and surprise proposals to a vow renewal, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate the day with those you love.
This year's Love in Times Square event is proudly presented by the Times Square Alliance and Minted Weddings, a premium design marketplace helping couples create unique and beautiful wedding designs.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Two couples will tie the knot in the heart of Times Square on Valentine's Day. The first couple met during the COVID-19 pandemic and has spent many nights in the city, enjoying Broadway shows, restaurants, and even New Year's Eve celebrations. They have chosen Times Square as their wedding venue to commemorate the backdrop of their favorite relationship memories. The second couple has been together for 21 years and decided to finally make it official in the iconic location.
In addition to the wedding ceremonies, two lucky couples will be surprised with a Valentine's Day marriage proposal on the American Eagle billboard in Times Square. The proposals will feature designs from Minted Weddings artists.
At 6:00 pm, the iconic Red Steps in Times Square will be the location for a free, open-to-all celebration of love and commitment. Couples who attend will receive gifts, including Raaka’s new coconut milk minis and a voucher for Minted Weddings Stationery. Those interested in attending can register here: TSq.org/Vows.
This year's Love in Times Square event will take place against the backdrop of the 15th Annual Love and Design Competition winner: Love’s h|Edge by Almost Studio. This playful installation is a configuration of four heart-shaped hedge rows, inviting visitors to journey through hidden pathways, rose-filled trellises, and heart-shaped spaces. Each day at 1 pm, Times Square Arts and Almost Studio will stage a free dedication of freshly cut roses, and visitors will be invited to "Fill Up the Heart" by adding their own flowers.
For Valentine's Day only, couples and passersby can take their photo in front of a vintage New York City taxi overflowing with blooms, designed by Catherine Dash and Fernando Kabigting.
While in Times Square on Valentine's Day, be sure to check out local spots and hidden gems, including Marriott Marquis and Broadway Lounge, Gordon Ramsay's Fish & Chips, and Ellen’s Stardust Diner. More information can be found at TSQ.org/FebDeals.
